She's committed to welcoming new members and visitors, ensuring that they benefit fully from the chapter's resources. She is devoted to individually contacting all 250 members by the end of the year. President's Message: Kristi Smith

It is amazing how quickly my year as President of the Atlanta Chapter has gone by and that this is my last President's Message. It has been a wonderful year! I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Chapter President. It has been a pleasure to lead the Chapter in a new and exciting direction. The experience provided many opportunities for personal growth and achievement and I wouldn't trade a minute of it. I would also like to thank the 2005-2006 Board of Directors for their hard work and dedication. Their enthusiasm and commitment to making our Chapter one of the best made my job that much easier. Also, I'd like to give a special thank you to all committee chairs, committee members and section chairs. Together these volunteers helped put together engaging educational sessions, enjoyable social and networking events, and beneficial community service projects. We have come a long way in one short year with many goals set and achieved.

Pursuit of Excellence

Our search netted many fine candidates from across the Metro area, crossing many economic, racial and cultural borders to bring together some of the finer minds our community had to offer.

Some mistakes have very serious consequences, such as the case being dismissed, a default judgment being entered, causes of action, parties or affirmative defenses being stricken. Lesser sanctions, such as monetary awards to opposing parties or opposing counsel, are costly and embarrassing.

I Have Three Words for You: Document, Document, Document
By: Michael Kun, Esq.

The old realtor's maxim is that the three most important words in real estate are "location," "location," "location."

There should be a similar maxim for managers and human resources professionals. And it shouldn't be too hard for you to guess what the three most important words should be since they also appear in the title of this article: "document," "document," "document."

Remembering What You Read

Have you ever read something but don't know when, or if, you will ever need to actually use it? And if questioned a few weeks later about the subject, is your memory vague, at best?

Myth - I can't, nor will I, be able to remember everything I read.

Truth - You will remember what you choose to remember!
