From the Editor AALA's Winter 2005 Newsletter

Welcome to AALA’s 2005 Winter Newsletter!  The Holiday rush and year-end close is in full swing, but I hope that you can find time to re-energize with some of our great educational offerings in this edition.

One of our 2005 Luncheon Speaker’s,  Peter Metzner of Dynamic Change, Inc. has contributed his fourth and final article on personality types in which he continues his series addressing how to manage (and understand) those around you, and how stand out as a leader in the process.  This edition’s article deals with the “Free Spirit.” 

In an interesting article, Gary Weitzel gives us a peek into the resources available in ALA’s Management Encyclopedia (ALAME).  Mr. Weitzel of Summit Knowledge Services (and ALAME’s first editor-in-chief) provides commentary on the first part of Micah Buchdahl’s, “Web Site Marketing: the Basics”.

Thomas P. Sukowicz has provided us with the third in his series on loss prevention, or malpractice avoidance.  In his current article titled “Use of Engagement Agreements to Reduce Malpractice Claims” Mr. Sukowicz explores instances where claims are made against lawyers by persons the lawyers did not consider to be their clients, but who believed that the lawyer was representing them or looking out for their interests.

We of course have profiled another AALA member, and in this issue our Marianne Lawhead of Shea Stokes & Carter, is featured.
